Had a great buffet breakfast at the hotel in the morning and then walked to the Ban Jelačić Square to watch the morning show.  Viter Ukrainian Dancers (Edmonton) and Troyanda Ukrainian Dancers (Selkirk) were performing from Canada.  We also saw groups from Columbia, Egypt, Iraq and Slovakia.

After a rehearsal in the afternoon, we all loaded the bus for the picturesque town of Varazdin.  Varazdin is a small city one hour north of Zagreb.  We strolled the peaceful and serene streets of the city … visiting the shops and enjoying the outdoor cafes.  Varazdin city is proud of its title as one of the most desirable places to live in Croatia.  We felt a little medieval magic as we stopped for a picture in front of a castle built in the 13th century.

In the evening we met up with the Viter and Troyanda dancers as they celebrated the last day of their European tour. Tomorrow they begin their journey back to Canada.  What a wonderful experience to meet with other young people so enthusiastic about keeping the Ukrainian culture thriving.

Duchess Nicola and Duke Brett (or is he the court jester?!) in front of a medieval, magnificent mansion.
