There’s excitement in the air! It’s departure day!! Thank you to all the family and friends that drove us to the airport to see us off. If you add up everyone’s personal luggage, the costumes, headpieces, and carry-ons … we have nearly 50 pieces of luggage!
We left Winnipeg July 15, 11:55AM and arrived at Pearson Toronto Airport slightly ahead of schedule. Departed Toronto at 4:40PM on route to ‘Frankenfurt’, Germany (as Nicholas would say!). We arrived in Frankfurt 6:30AM, July 16. Arrived at our final destination in Zagreb, Croatia at 12:30PM, July 16. We checked into the hotel and enjoyed a delicious lunch as a group. Later in the afternoon we toured the city of Zagreb by bus and on foot. Amazing history … incredible markets ... wonderful cafes!
In the evening we enjoyed the sights, sounds and tastes of Zagreb. Pizza is $2 ... beer is $2 ... can't go wrong! We took in a fabulous cultural band on the main stage at central square. The weather has been perfect ... and no mosquitoes!! It has been an incredibly long day, but an absolute fabulous day.
