Tuesday, July 22 ... In the morning we visited the the Royal Palace of Godollo, about 40 minutes outside of Budapest.  It is famous for being a favourite place of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary.  Everyone on the tour received their own audio tour device to listen to a guided audio tour as they strolled through the massive palace at their leisure.  We even stopped in the Tea Room for some royal refreshments and desserts.

In the afternoon some of the group decided to go to the Budapest city centre to do some more shopping at the local shops, or in the covered market.  The other half of the group visited the Szecheniy Bath, one of the grandest baths (spas) in the city.  Budapest holds the title 'City of Spas', as it has more thermal and medicinal water springs than any other capital city in the world.  Whether is was soaking in one of the outdoor pools (in 37 degree water) ... or basking in one of the indoor eucalyptus pools ... or going for a sauna ... or a steam room ... it was very therapeutic and relaxing experience!

In the evening we went for a group dinner to the hard Rock Cafe - Budapest.  The food was tasty and the company was great.  After dinner, for their last night in Budapest, a few people went to an eclectic local night club called Szimpla.  Tomorrow we head for Vienna, Austria!

A relaxing time at the Szecheniy Bath.
