Monday, July 21 ... we once again enjoyed a breakfast buffet at our hotel.  We then did a city tour with Sasha (city tour guide), hopping on and off the bus, learning about the vast history of the two cities of Buda and Pest. We saw Heroes Square, the Hungarian Parliament Building and St. Stephen's Basilica to name a few.  After the city tour there was time to go shopping and visit a huge, covered market near the city centre.

We performed at a Hungarian Czarda (restaurant/tavern) in the evening.  There was a group of travellers on a bus tour, at the restaurant, from Poland, that we entertained for.  We even had them involved in the show by trying a few Ukrainian dance steps!  We performed two lively dances .... Kozachok and Volyn.  Although the stage area was very small the dancers did a great job with their enthusiastic performance.

Following the show we were served a traditional Hungarian meal and were entertained by a Hungarian folk band and a couple Hungarian dancers.  This time they had us involved in the show by getting a few of us to try a few Hungarian dance moves!

Our city tour of Budapest began at Heroes Square.

We visited the Hungarian Parliament Building just in time to see the 'changing of the guards'.

The gals snuck a picture with the Parliament Guards.

Nicholas, Lukas and Randy catch a pic with a Hungarian Soldier at Parliament Square.

We performed at a Hungarian Czarda in the evening.  Historically, a czarda is a restaurant / tavern that Hungarian travellers would stop at for nourishment and refreshments.

A group of travellers from Poland were at the czarda to take in our show.

Despite the small stage area, the dancers did a great job performing a very lively kozachok!

The dancers shared their love of Ukrainian dance with some audience participation.

The dancers delight the audience with their performance of Volyn.

Hans and Veronica do a twirl around the dance floor as the local band played some toe-tapping tunes.

Lukas gets a lesson on how to do a Hungarian stick dance.
